Hello

“If a photo can make you smile, think, or care just a little more about the wild — then it’s already doing its job.”

My Story

Photographer • Naturalist • Educator

Brent Wells is a documentary photographer and naturalist who travels the world capturing the stories of wildlife, ecosystems, and the people working to protect them. With a lifelong passion for conservation and a background shaped by remote fieldwork, Brent’s work focuses on endemic species and the remarkable behaviours that unfold both above and below the waves.

From reef systems and tidal platforms to forests, islands, and remote coastlines, Brent documents animals in their natural environments with a strong emphasis on authenticity, respect, and scientific context. His imagery is often created in collaboration with marine biologists, naturalists, and research teams, helping translate complex science into visual stories that educate, inspire, and engage audiences of all ages.

Beyond photography, Brent is deeply involved in education and outreach. Through partnerships with schools, universities, and conservation programs, he uses imagery and firsthand experience to spark curiosity, encourage environmental responsibility, and connect future generations to the natural world. His work aims to show not just what exists, but why it matters — and how we can make things better for both wildlife and people.

Equal parts storyteller, educator, and explorer, Brent Wells believes that when people truly see the wild, they are far more likely to protect it.
